PUBLICITY LEAFLET

A publicity leaflet has been produced by David Moore which will shortly be printed and distributed.  It includes a membership application form. Members are asked to suggest suitable locations for  displaying the leaflet to best effect.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2009

The annual General Meeting of the association was held on Wednesday 11th November 2009 at the Stand Unitarian Church , Whitefield.

A good number of members were in attendance and enjoyed wine and cheese before the meeting.

The Chairman gave her report on a good year for the association and the Treasurer reported a healthy balance.

Elections were held and officers were all returned unopposed.

Following the meeting Mr David Moore presented an excellent  slide show of the events which had taken place during the year and also the photographic exhibition which had taken place at the Met Theatre in July/August.  Copies are available from him on DVD for £2.00 - proceeds for the association.

FRENCH DINNER AT 3CZONS

The annual French Dinner was held at the Bury College 3Czons restaurant on Thursday 4th March.  65 members and friends enjoyed an excellent meal and good company.  Thanks to all the staff and students at the college and to the organiser, Yvonne Moore.

VISIT FROM SCHORNDORF

A group from Schorndorf will arrive in Bury on 21st May for a 5 day visit, hosted by Bury members.  A full programme of events has been planned including a reception with the Mayor of Bury, trip to York, and a farewell dinner.  

ANGOULEMME CYCLISTS

A party of cyclists from our twin town of Angoulemme will be arriving at Hull on 17th July where they will be met by a group of cyclists from Bury (Team Twinning).  They will cycle to arrive in Bury on Sunday 18th July.  There will be several events palnned during their stay and they depart on Tuesday 20th.

VISIT TO TULLE

A trip to Tulle has been arranged for later this year.  Dates will be 25th to 29th October. This trip is always well supported and we can look forward to a wonderful reception from our hosts.
